Paul Wray MSc, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC
Paul qualified from Brunel University College (London) with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 1995.
After a short spell at the Hammersmith Hospital in London, he relocated to Gloucestershire and worked at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon.
During a six-year period at Swindon he worked mainly in the musculoskeletal outpatient department treating a variety of conditions, working closely with the Orthopaedic Consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
His work also involved running a physiotherapy clinic in a local General Practice in Highworth.
He moved into private practice in 2000, initially working part-time at Breakspeare Clinic - Chipping Norton and combining it with his NHS work.
Paul now works full-time in private practice, after leaving the NHS in April 2002.
After 10 years at the practice, in 2012 Paul bought Breakspeare Clinic - Chipping Norton and Breakspeare Clinic - Didcot.
He has branched out further and establish a practice in Cheltenham, Breakspeare Clinic - Cheltenham, where he now lives.
Paul was an international athlete, having represented England and Great Britain at pole vaulting. He has also dabbled with Triathlons and marathon running in the past.
In addition to the above qualifications, Paul also completed a Sport Science Degree in 1988, and has been able to use that knowledge to help rehabilitate clients back to normal function and sporting activity following injury.
He also gained an M.Sc. in Exercise and Health Behaviour at City University, London.
Paul’s main professional interests are in manual therapy and sports injuries and rehabilitation. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and also Physio First.
He has done a number of professional courses over his 25 years in practice, including completing a course in Kinesio Therapy Taping, and now offers this therapy to his clients in addition to the manual therapy he generally provides.
Paul's social interests include coaching athletics (pole vaulting), where he is a qualified UKA Athletics Coach and is heavily involved in Cheltenham and County Harriers Athletics Club.
Other interests include cycling and photography, when he has the time!
Paul is an excellent Physiotherapist, who is extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring. He always takes the time to explain the procedure that he is carrying out. I cannot thank Paul enough for his excellent care over the years and would highly recommend him.
