Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine
  Treatments offered:
Acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles into acupuncture points in the skin.
Michi draws on two acupuncture based methodologies.
The first approach is based on practices developed in China over thousands of years that aim to correct the imbalances in the body that lead to disease, and the second is based on modern western methodologies often administered by physiotherapists in the control of pain.

Herbal medicine has been practiced for millennia and has modern scientific endorsement as an important source of active ingredients for many pharmaceuticals.

Michi's approach to herbal medicine is based on Chinese herbalism combined with elements of western herbal knowledge. She uses only responsibly sourced plant materials, and does not use animal derived products.

Michi will often combine herbalism and acupuncture with other treatment strategies including cupping, moxibustion and various massage techniques. She may also provide dietary advice based on her knowledge and experience of how foods can affect different types of conditions.

During consultations, the practitioner uses various diagnostic techniques coupled with interview to establish the cause of illness and to prescribe an appropriate blend of treatments.
