You are you own expert and that is why we refer to ‘Person Centred Therapy’. Working alongside a skilled and experienced counsellor our aim is for you to grow in self-awareness, or knowledge about yourself. We call this a ‘Therapeutic Alliance’ and the outcome very much depends on a trusting, safe and respectful relationship. Enhanced self-awareness often allows us to understand how best to react to uncomfortable, painful, or harmful issues that we may be faced with.

Loss or change, lack of self-esteem, anxiety, anger, depression, relationship issues or something unresolved that might still be troubling, are some of the many reasons that clients choose to seek time and space for themselves alongside a therapeutic partner.

Elaine will begin by setting aside an hour to discover what you would hope to gain from her work and to make sure you feel comfortable and assured of complete confidentiality. You will no doubt have some questions about the work, and Elaine will ask a few initial questions so that together you can identify a starting point.

Elaine, who holds a P.G. Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, has worked in a number of settings over the past 12 years. She is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and works strictly within their ethical professional framework.
